• Pure OEM manufacturers: Produce to your specified formula. You control the recipe; they execute production.

The Evaluation Process: Step by Step

Step 1: Build a candidate shortlist

For any production commitment beyond a pilot batch, visit the facility in person. Certifications tell you what should be true; a facility visit tells you what actually is. Check equipment condition, raw material storage environments, and cleanliness standards.

Ingredient Network and Formulation Expertise

• Supplier relationships: Manufacturers with established ingredient supplier networks can source your target ingredients faster and with better price stability.
• Experience with your ingredients: A manufacturer who has already worked with your target MFDS-listed ingredients has existing quality data and processing know-how.
• Dosage form expertise: Confirm they have a production history with your target dosage form (tablet, capsule, powder, gummy, liquid). Dosage forms outside their experience add avoidable development friction.

What Low-Cost Quotes Actually Cost

• Hidden add-ons: Initial quotes sometimes exclude packaging setup fees, label correction charges, or additional certificate issuance costs.
• Missed delivery costs: Late production means missed sales windows and wasted pre-invested marketing spend.
• Quality inconsistency costs: Batch-to-batch variability generates rework costs and customer complaints.
• Communication overhead: Slow or unclear communication compounds into project delays across every milestone.
